All of our cylinders are supplied with a hard copy of the installation instructions, these contain the Benchmark log for your cylinder, which should have been completed by the installer when the cylinder was commissioned. If you’re in a new build property this should have been left as part of your hand over pack.  Alternatively you should contact your installer to obtain the original copy as this forms an important part of your cylinder warrantee.

If you are unable to contact your installer you can download an electronic copy from our resource library, but without the completed Benchmark log your cylinder warrantee could be in at risk.  In which case you should contact our sales office to review the options of having your cylinder re-commissioned by a Kingspan engineer to have your warrantee reinstated.  Note that call outs for warrantee reinstatement are chargeable and subject to the age of the cylinder and installation meeting our installation standards.

Apart from savings of up to 50 - 70% annually on the heating cost for your hot water and/or heating. Once you have the panel installed that amount of energy is free for you. The main percentage of your water heating cost is done away through the use of the solar panel. Over time your savings will increase as the price of oil / gas / electricity and other fossil fuels will increase over time in the future. Solar also reduces the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions helping to protect the environment from being polluted. CO2 is one of the largest single contributors towards global warming.
Normally only if the building is in a conservation area / listed building or under construction - but you should check with your local planning office. Our panels are environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing..

We have a number of spare cylinder parts on our Kingspan Parts Shop, visit online today for more information: www.kepartshop.com

Unvented hot water cylinders should be serviced every 12 months by a qualified installer and the Benchmark log book completed.  Failure to do this will invalidate your cylinder warrantee. For your peace of mind you can always arrange a cylinder service from a Kingspan Service engineers by calling 0844 846 0500 to book an appointment.

All of our unvented stainless steel cylinders are supplied with the immersion heater pre-fitted but on copper cylinders immersion heaters are sold separately and not pre-fitted to avoid damage in transit.

The collectors can be integrated with your existing system to provide hot water throughout the building for toilets / showers / canteens etc in fact anywhere large quantities of free hot water can be used. i.e. Hospitals / Leisure Centres and all other commercial applications.
No. The immersion heater for a stainless steel cylinder has a 1¾” thread whereas most off the shelf immersion heaters are for copper cylinders and have 2¼” threads.

With our new range of cylinders featuring built-in thermal expansion technology, external expansion vessels are not always required but where external expansion vessels are required they are included in the cylinder kit.  Please refer to the individual specification of the cylinder you are ordering to check.

Thermomax Collectors are light and modular and can usually be installed in one day by a qualified professional in 1-2 days. They are supplied with a marine grade stainless steel frame and, being lightweight, they will attach easily to your existing structure. The solar tubes allow air to circulate around them and will not trap moisture or debris.

All of our standard pre-plumbed unvented cylinders are provided with a Danfoss programmable control, however non pre-plumbed models and some cylinders for specific contracts don’t have a programmer provided, this is to allow the installer to fit an alternative in line with the specification of the property.

As manufacturers we recommend that all of our units require annual servicing - this is a service that can be provided by Kingspan Environmental Service as we have a dedicated team of qualified service engineers that can be scheduled to complete site visits.

The service schedule would be determined by the size and application of the unit. This can be obtained from calling KES or from your owner’s manual/installation guidelines.

All of our unvented cylinder come complete with a factory fitted pressure and temperature relief valve.

You can tell if your unit is fully operational by arranging for a Kingspan Environmental service engineer to attend site under an annual service agreement. We would recommend that you contact our service team in reference to this and we can advise on best course of action to give peace of mind that your unit is fully mechanically and electrically operational.

Unvented hot water cylinders are fed water directly by cold water mains and provide mains pressure hot water and greater flow rates, vented hot water cylinders are a traditional form of cylinder and are supplied water via cold water storage tanks often kept in attics or lofts.

If this happens we would recommend this be actioned as quickly as possible and our service team should be contacted to arrange a site visit or a tankering. This would help address and rectify the problem with a prompt and professional turn around.

The key difference between a thermal store and a standard cylinder is that a thermal sore uses the water in the cylinder to heat cold water passing through the coil to provide mains pressure hot water. A standard cylinder uses hot water in the coil to heat the water stored in the cylinder, depending on if this is an unvented or vented system could be at mains pressure or using gravity feed.

Heat Interface Units (HIU’s) deliver heat that has been generated from a centralised heating plant to apartments. They maximise the whole system’s performance to provide high levels of heating comfort in every room and copious volumes of high pressure hot water for washing, bathing and showering.

The engineer would complete a full electrical and mechanical check on the plant.

The engineer will check the following when he visits a site:

  • Control Panel
  • Compressor /Motor
  • Effluent Pump
  • Visual Inspection of the Unit
  • Checking the levels of sludge and advising if tankering needed.

If the cylinder was manufactured before 2010 then thermostat sits inside a pocket which can be unscrewed once the cylinder has been drained and replaced with a new thermostat pocket.

In all cases an OFTEC risk assessment should be carried out by a suitable qualified engineer with OFTEC registration.OFTEC are the regulatory body for the oil industry.

If the following apply then a bunded oil tank needs to be installed.

  • Tank capacity in excess of 2500 litres
  • Tank within 10m of controlled water
  • Tank located where a spillage could run into an open drain or to a loose fitting manhole cover
  • Tank within 50m of a borehole or spring
  • Tank over hard ground or hard-surfaced ground that could enable spillage run-off to reach controlled water
  • Tank located in a position where the vent pipe outlet is not visible from the fill point
  • Tank supplying heating oil to a building other than a single-family dwelling

For a direct cylinder IMHTRSS is the immersion heater you need. www.kepartshop.com

Put simply, a bunded oil tank is a double walled tank or a tank within a tank. The inner tank stores the oil and the outer tank acts as a bund which encases the inner tank. The outer tank holds 110% of the capacity of the inner tank. If there is a spill or leak from the inner tank it’s captured in the outer tank so avoiding groundwater pollution.
Solar works all year round - and even in Winter it will help to give you hot water, because vacuum tubes absorb energy efficiently in all different weathers conditions and all year round.
  • 12 litre expansion vessel covers all sizes up to 150 litre cylinder capacity
  • 19 litre expansion vessel covers sizes 180 to 250 litre cylinder capacity
  • 24 litre expansion vessel covers the 300 litre cylinder capacity.

No if replacing the immersion, you will need a high temperature type immersion which we supply as part number IMHTR2301, on our Kingspan Parts Store

The tank should be situated 1.8metres from a dwelling and 760mm from a boundary (eg wall or fence). If your oil tank needs to be installed closer than this, then a 30 minute firewall is required which must extend 300mm above and beyond both ends of the tank. Your Local Authority Building Control can provide further advice. Titan oil tanks are only suitable for above-ground installations only.

The pressure relief valve fitted in the side of the cylinder is the Temperature & Pressure Relief (VALVETP1/2ALT) and is set at 7 bar. There is also a pressure relief valve on the cold mains and is incorporated into the Inlet Control Valve(CONSTSETALT533) and is set at 6 bar.

No. British Gas only provide a cylinder inspection as part of their annual service and not a full service as specified by the Benchmark scheme, so this will not count as a cylinder service.

In the UK it is generally a requirement to obtain planning permission prior to installation. General Permitted Development (GPDO) does exist in certain areas – you're chosen Accredited Installer will be able to advise you.

You can download an ErP label for your product from our website by searching for your product code in the search box or download a Fiche sheet from our Resource Library

Our turbines should be serviced on their first anniversary and then every two years (or 25,000kW intervals (KW6) whichever comes first.

Kingspan Wind Turbines have a unique hinge design that allows the blades to cone in high winds; this allows the turbine to protect itself allowing continued operation without the need to brake itself. This unique design ensures maximum output in all wind speeds.
Kingspan Wind has an Accredited Installer network covering the globe, all stringently vetted on technical competency and customer service. Kingspan Wind can introduce you to your most local installer upon request.
The KW6 & KW3 comes with a standard 5 year parts and labour warranty.
The Kingspan Klargester BioDisc System forms a range of Sewage Treatment Plants that biologically treat household and light commercial wastewater using the unique Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) technology. The range covers from a single house up to a small community’s requirements.
All Klargester products are supplied with a 12-month guarantee from date of delivery.
In the UK, any unit going into the ground may require ‘consent to discharge’ from the local Environment Agency / SEPA office, even if you are using just a storage tank. Planning permission is required from the local Building Control department.
No, the WatchmanSonic / WatchmanAlarm will fit into the same hole, please remember to remove all parts of the original watchman from the tank prior to fitting the WatchmanSonic / WatchmanAlarm.
The Waste2O food waste bio-digester rapidly digests up to 180 Kg of soft, organic food waste in 24-hours, and the resulting waste water safely runs away to drain - simply throw in the food and walk away. The process is called aerobic digestion, and a naturally occurring blend of microorganisms help with this process
Our product comes with 12 months warranty from date of purchase.
The Waste20 machine will take soft, organic food waste such as fruit, vegetables, cooked and uncooked meat, fish and so on.

NOTE: The general rule is that if a human can eat the food, the machine will process the food. The appliance and the microorganisms are designed to process a wide range of food waste types in mixed quantities. The machine cannot process anything that is not organic food waste and cannot be easily broken down such as bones, seeds and stones, flower stems, packaging, general waste, cutlery, crockery, cocktail sticks, etc.
The WatchmanSonic/WatchmanAlarm comes fitted with a lithium battery which should last beyond the 12 month warranty period. We advise not to change the battery within this period as this voids the warranty and any repair/replacement components will be chargeable. The light flashing draws your attention to what is displayed on the receiver plug.
This is not a cause for concern. Only a trace amount of methane is produced which is flushed away down the drain.

“The microorganisms are perfectly safe, naturally-occurring and non-pathogenic, i.e. they do not cause disease. They are regarded as safe worldwide and classified under Hazard Group 1. There are also no harmful effects to local drains or sewage systems. In effect the formulation boosts the population of beneficial bacteria in the system, and there would actually be beneficial effects further downstream”.

Dr. John Lear (PhD, Microbiology)

Trying to put too much food waste into the Waste2O at one time will overload the appliance, slow the digestion process and could damage the appliance. The appliance can process a maximum of 180 Kg of organic food waste over a 24-hour period but this MUST be staged over the course of 24 hours. Operators should aim to add 1x 20-litre bucket (approx. 22.5 Kg) of food waste every 3 hours to achieve maximum performance. Much like the human digestive system, the appliance gradually processes the food. If your operation does not run for 24 hours, you will be able to process proportionately less food waste.
No. All of the organic food waste will be digested and will run away to drain as waste water. The only items that will need removing from the appliance from time to time are non-digestible items that may accidentally fall into the appliance.
No; in fact it does not have a tank or hold any water, with the exception of the drain pump and water latent in the food waste, which would be dispersed before servicing.
